Awakening to Biological Decoding

Let me make a bold statement:  All disease is emotional.  Dr. R. G. Hamer, MD, establishes the existence of biological laws that operate at 100% without exception: The disease is the translation of a conflict in the individual’s biology.  John Hopkins trained Dr. Todd Ovokaitys, MD simply says it this way, “If the mind doth bend, disease can end.”

Cancer, breast cancer for example, specifically, has it’s roots from a strong feeling of inner guilt  towards oneself or several of one’s children—anger and rejection are amplified, and “my” emotion will be ‘evacuated’  through “my” breasts, which will become a symbol of “my” ‘failure.’

Diabetes, is linked to sugar.  Sugar is linked to love, tenderness, and affections.  Diabetes reflects various feelings of inner sadness.  This love sickness is a sure lack of love.  “One controls their environment and those around me, because of previous wounds. I am experiencing an emotional abstinence,” if diabetes could talk.

Or heart— cardiac problems symbolize love, peace, and the love of life.  Heart problems often originate from a loss of love, from sadness, or from a resurgence of deep emotions, even after several years.  All secret, impossible loves, family love cheapened by conflicts will “attack” my heart.

Weight—especially excess that one unconsciously seeks to isolate oneself either through communications with the outer world or because there is an imprisoned emotion or feeling ‘isolated’ in me that I don’t want to see.  “Through my obesity, I am seeking a form of protection that I continually accumulate in my inner thoughts.  There is a gulf between me and the outer world.  I want so much to love and approach the people I love, but I am so afraid.”  With all the diet books on the market, we should be a slim and trim society, but something is in our way of that desired reality.

And btw, much to my amazement, it is important to add, that this separation between our emotional state of well-being and our physical disease began in the seventeenth century. According to John Hopkins researcher Candice Pert, PhD in her book Molecules of Emotion, René Descartes—a philosopher and founding father of modern medicine and the Pope made a “turf deal.”   According to Pert,  in order to acquire the bodies he needed for dissection, Descartes agreed he wouldn’t have anything to do with the soul, the mind—or the emotions—apparently under exclusive jurisdiction of the church at the time.

Modern research is confirming what the Chinese have always understood: “So much of the illness begins in the mind,” Said the Yellow Emperor, Huang Di centuries ago.  With many modern pioneers such as Louise Hay, Deb Shapiro, Jacques Martel, Claude Sabbah, MD, Dr. Hammer, Bruce Lipton, MD and dozens of others today. What has been separation which “could never overlap, creating the unbalanced situation that is mainstream science and medicine we know today.” It finally appears that the gap is coming to a close and we are coming full circle to once again recognize there can be no separation between our physical, emotional/mind and soul in our lives and well-being.  True wellness comes from within.IMG_7401

Detoxing . . .

A time-tested brand!

A time-tested brand!

You know it is nothing to schedule an appointment for our car; taking it in for routine preventive maintenance is totally within our accepted cultural meme. Changing the oil, or air filter is expected. But ask someone about a detox and all sorts of triggers and resistance come up for most in our society and those who suggest such ideas are often thought of as crazy, deranged or nut cases!

I pose this to you–What if an annual, or bi-annual detox for your colon, kidney’s and liver might possibly save you from trouble on down the road?

I know the argument from the medical doctors, most who have never ever had a nutrition class, argue that the body is designed not to need such measures?

I would propose that:

1.) our body’s weren’t designed to depend on pharmaceuticals and drastic interventions and

2.) we weren’t meant to live in such a toxic, artificial, and chemicalized world exposed to all sorts of substances that put real strain on our body and in-turn our organs which filter these unknown and unnatural substances daily– assaulted to such extreme irritation and early degeneration? (for a minute consider the pesticides, genetically modified unlabeled ‘food’ or the processed artificial ingredients and chemicals we cannot pronounce added to the food we consume each day).

So, with spring here, and everyone looking for ways to maintain or improve their health and vitality, consider a detox or cleanse.

I am getting ready to do another–this time a kidney cleanse–why not–a little preventive maintenance on my car goes a long way–so why not me?  The cleanses support my intention of living a long healthy productive and purposeful life!  What about you?

Superfoods; Great for Mind and Body; Health and Vitality

Increase the vital force and energy of one's body.

Increase the vital force and energy of one’s body.

Busy life, busy day–I’m going to do a short post on three more SUPERFOODS that I enjoy everyday!  They are just one of the additions that keep me vitalized and energetic each day!

4.) Hemp Products (eaten in their RAW form) The seeds are packed with 33% pure digestible protein, and are rich in iron, amino acids and vitamin E as well as omega 3’s and GLA.* Hemp is a perfect food for growing children and adults to increase protein intake.

5.) Camu Berry–Highest Vitamin C source on planet. Great for rebuilding tissue, purifying blood, and enhancing immunity and energy. Camu berry is one of the best anti-depressants, immune building, and eye-nourishing superfoods in the world.

6.) Bee Products (honey, pollen, and propolis) –Bee pollen is the most complete food found in nature containing nearly all B vitamins especially vitamin B-9 (folate) and all 21 essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. Honey, in its organic/wild, raw unfiltered states is rich in minerals, antioxidants, probiotics and enzymes, and is one of the highest vibrational foods on the planet.  If your metabolism can handle sweeteners, honey is the best. Russian research indicates that honey is a longevity superfood.

Remember health is a journey not a destination.  Excellent health is about more than just feeling good.  Vitality and strength allow us to be active in our families, our communities and our world giving us the ability to achieve much more than when we are “sick & tired.” It is a gift you give you yourself and others.

*GLA (gamma linoleic acid) Is an essential omega-6 fatty acid.  We become deficient in GLA when large amounts of sugar, trans fatty acids (margarine, hydrogenated oils), and red meats and dairy products are consumed.

SUPERFOODS . . . WHAT ARE THEY?

How could you incorporate some of these and enjoy their benefits?

How could you incorporate some of these and enjoy their benefits?

Super foods are a class of the most potent, super-concentrated, and nutrient rich foods on the planet. As I began to sprinkle them on my super healthy steel cut oats—I thought my followers may want to do the same. Breaking the fast should after all begin with some goodness. So rather than some highly processed—highly refined carbohydrate laden with trans-fat and corn syrup—why not temp yourself with a breakfast the really does a body good!
To make it super-easy and super-fast, I make a big batch of the steel cut oatmeal when I am not rushed for time, and then transfer it into a glass container to store in the refrigerator. I can either take a serving size out and heat it with a bit of Kangen water on the stove—or heat it for a minute if you are still a microwave person—
I dress my wholesome oatmeal making it tasty and delicious adding chia seeds, Maca powder, Goji berries, golden berries and some cacao nibs. I also toss in a few almonds or walnuts. Sometimes I add a bit of rice milk. It is quite a delicious mixture, and it is never quite the same.
Let me share a little about some of the new Superfoods available on the market today. The first thing, is they have a tremendous ability to increase the vital force and energy of one’s body and are the optimum choice for improving over-all health, boosting the immune system, elevating serotonin production, enhancing sexuality, cleansing, lowering inflammation and alkalizing the body—wow! According to David Wolfe, raw foodist and Superfoods expert, “nourishing us at the deepest level possible, they are the true fuel of today’s superhero.”
So, let me talk about a couple . . .
1.) Cacao (Raw Chocolate) The seed/nut of a fruit of an Amazonian tree, cacao is the highest antioxidant food on the planet, the #1 source of antioxidants, magnesium, iron, manganese, and chromium and is also extremely high in PEA, theobromine (cardiovascular support) and anandamide (“bliss chemical”). Raw chocolate improves cardiovascular health, builds strong bones, is a natural aphrodisiac, elevates your mood and energy and increases longevity.
2.) Goji Berries (Wolfberries)—used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 5,000 years. Goji berries are regarded as a longevity, strength-building and potency food of the highest order. This superfood contains 18 kinds of amino acids, including all 8 essential amino acids, up to 21 trace minerals, high amounts of antioxidants, iron, polysaccharides, B & E vitamins and many other nutrients.
3.) Maca—A staple in the Peruvian Andes for thousands of years, this adaptogenic superfood increases energy, endurance, strength, and libido. Dried maca powder contains more than 10% protein, nearly 20 amino acids, including 7 essential amino acids. As a root crop, maca contains five times more protein than a potato and four times more fiber.

The weekend is coming—you may be able to catch your breath. Break out of your routine. Try something new. Make a commitment to yourself. You are a spark of the divine—so treat yourself divinely!
“The only way to win, sometimes, is to surrender.”

Does Coconut Milk Help With Osteoporosis?

Veggies for our Health and Wellness

Great question for most of us. I acknowledge you for looking deeper–beyond the mainstream thinking, and advertising by famous celebrities such as Sally Field, my favorite Flying Nun.

I guess the real question is: why do I have osteoarthritis, and is it a symptom of something larger going on within my system or body? Can I balance my pH with coconut milk or perhaps do I need to start adding in some additional foods that will help to give my body the balance it innately desires and needs? Is there something I can do to reverse this trend? (these comments and thoughts, are not meant to diagnosis, treat or cure.)

The body is a brilliant energy designed to be self-healing–our thoughts, and what we eat and drink have an effect in how we feel. For most of us, until we are about 40-45 our body has a great ability to buffer and neutralize the acid conditions within, but after we hit that 45 +\- marker, that ability begins to fall and people begin to show imbalance–which we label as sickness and disease or dis-ease. So what can we do?

One hundred years ago, Thomas Edison said, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.”

Brilliant researcher and author, T. Colin Campbell, PhD writes, “Investigations of Human populations show that our risk of hip fractures and osteoporosis is made worse by diets high in animal-based foods. Animal protein leeches calcium from the bones by creating an acidic environment in the blood. We now have a deep and broad range of evidence showing that a whole foods, plant-based diet is best for our kidneys, bones, eyes and brains.” The China Study, p.349

It is time to head in another direction. Let’s begin to think about adding foods to support in the reduction of that acidic state (one end of the equation) and support our body’s access to more alkaline foods,(the other side of the equation) so it’s not forced to steal calcium from our bones, joints, cartilage and teeth to maintain that critical blood pH of 7.365-7.4 pH. Foods that support this delicate balance include: spinach, kale, avocado, asparagus, dandelion greens, wheat grass, and alkaline-ionized water.

I also drink Kangen water which is mineral rich, alkaline-ionized with powerful anti-oxidants. Check out www.energiesofhealing.com. Another easy practical way is to add “live” powered organic greens to your shakes or stir them into water. I like the Green Organic International available at www.thepowerofph.com. See my post on greens for a super green shake you can make and drink and go in under 5 minutes!

And, the answer to your question: Does Coconut Milk Help With Osteoporosis? Coconut milk varies with a pH between 6 (still slightly acidic) and 7 pH (neutral). So, based on that information, the answer is no,coconut milk is not alkaline. And anything that is acidic would be pulling minerals from your bones. My personal testing of coconut water is the same– on the acidic side. You decide. Leafy green vegetables would be a better choice for your osteoporosis. Raw green veggies contain calcium and are alkaline too! Kale, Dandelion greens,Collard and Turnip greens being some of the best.

Cathy

Attending to Your Foot Chakra’s

Randy places a tuning fork on recent client’s foot

Earlier this summer I found myself sitting under a beautiful majestic mango tree, pant legs rolled high, and feet submerged to the calf in a warm water Japanese foot spa, soaking.  My feet resting upon  smooth river rocks and a few high vibrating crystals engaged in conversation and connecting with Randy, introduced to me as “The Foot Whisperer.”

How do I begin to describe foot whispering? Foot what, you say? You know foot fetishes, foot-ball and foot locker–but as healing modality, chakras, mind-body medicine, and energy blockages?

The story begins when East meets West. “Chakra” is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning wheel or vortex. Chakra’s relate directly to the energy centers within our body, and still a mystery to medical science today.

But I was there for the experience. I noticed Randy’s skill and intuition tapping into subtle energies. I know the human body is like a map really,  with key points.  When pressed can stimulate the body’s natural healing and self curative abilities as it is designed to be self-healing.   One of the minor chakras, ” The foot chakra is a vital energy center and here that Divine energy returns back to its source.” Today, we are often cut off from that source; important divine connections with Mother Earth. We wear shoes, walk upon asphalt, and concrete. Our houses elevated and separated from the subtle vibrations which emanate out of the earth. We are inner-active with the earth and the earth with us, but today it is missing in most of our lives. We need to be aware.  ” Heart rhythm connection to the Earth is definitely becoming more “present”, more enlivened and more aware of what’s needing to be done,” Declares Randy.  The Chakra system is the most important system in the human body. When you are feeling happy and things are going well, these main centers of energy are resonating and vibrating at an optimal level. When things start to go wrong and you are overly stressed, these energy centers start to shut down slowly. When these energy centers shut down, you may be prone to illness.

So, once I had fully soaked my feet, Randy began to read the energy. He can tell if you have had antibiotics, your overall circulation, and whether you have uric acid crystal formations in your feet for example. Crystal Resonation* at the feet is both a practical and useful way to perceive energy movement in the chakra system at the actual base chakra. A tuning fork is often placed on the foot chakra to create movement and begin to free those energetic “blocks”.

Just as many ancient wisdom’s have merit at their roots inherited from the Eastern cultures and philosophies, this contemporary Shaman believes “The heart Chakra will be the new root chakra and things are starting to proceed from the heart.” Randy’s special interest is in balance and movement disorders including the serious dis-ease of Parkinson’s and non-surgical options for bunion sufferers!  To reach Randy for your own personal foot whispering session, his email is: http://www.footwhispering@gmail.com. And, until you do, try to rest your feet upon the earth–wherever you live! The Earth’s subtle energies does a body good. And as for my foot session; pleasant, therapeutic and healing!

Be well,

Cathy

*As our body is a sea of energy, the right form of crystal interaction at the appropriate instance can greatly enhance coherent synaptic function.

COWS MILK; It’s high time to question its value.

Substitute for a healthier alternative

“Neither kids or their parents are learning about how milk has been linked to Type 1 diabetes, prostate cancer, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis or other autoimmune diseases, and how casein (the main protein in dairy foods) has been shown to experimentally promote cancer and increase blood cholesterol and atherosclerotic plaque.”  p. 294 The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell

I probably could not bring up a subject anymore “un-American” than suggesting not to drink cows milk and stay away from dairy. I am talking about some not-so-nice and startling truths. Maybe it is time to ask, who is running things anyway? That was rhetorical; we all ready know. But I am here to remind you, big business, special interests and clever marketing distort the truth and are misleading. They have their interests in mind–not yours!

Growing up, our family drank more milk than the Albertson family down the street–with their 8 kids; we were half that number. My Mother was quite proud of that accomplishment and boasted frequently. Even now, as these words roll off my keyboard, they would be considered blaspheme within my childhood home. Yet, did you know, Countries that use the most cows milk and its products also have the highest fracture rates and worst bone health? Americans consume more cow’s milk and its products per person than most populations in the world. So Americans should have wonderfully strong bones, right? (Nope.) Studies show American women 50 and older have one of the highest rates of hip fractures in the world. 1 (p. 205) The China Study

Dr. Thomas Rau, MD, Medical Director of the Paracelsus Clinic Lustmuhle, made the following comments when it comes to milk and dairy:
“The only cow dairy allowed (for his patients)are small amounts of organic butter and cream from time to time, because my concern is with the proteins, not the fat. Even if you are not allergic to cow’s milk, I discourage its use. Because of the way milk is collected, processed and distributed in the United States, it is possible source of many contaminants, not least being the artificial estrogen DES given to cows to boost their milk production on large corporate farms. This drug causes unexplained infertility in humans as well as cancer, and traces are present in the milk of cows treated.
Problems such as osteoporosis arise not from drinking too little milk, but from ingesting too much animal protein. It is acidity in the bloodstream caused by eating too much protein that leaches calcium and other minerals from the bones and cartilage. Numerous studies as far back as 1988 have documented this; though it is only recently, with the latest results, that the public is being made aware. Eating plenty of leafy green vegetables and whole grains will give you all the calcium you need. Combining this good diet with moderate weight-bearing exercise will result in healthy bones.Every time you drink a glass of cow’s milk, eat a container of yogurt or cottage cheese, or dig into a slab of Cheddar, your immune system is assaulted. Most people who believe they are lactose intolerant are actually suffering from an allergy to the proteins in the milk, not the lactose, which is a simple sugar.

Women in particular are beset with this problem because before and during menopause, to avoid osteoporosis they are strongly encouraged by their doctors—and the dairy industry, which has a very powerful lobby—to drink excessive amounts of milk. And look at all the symptoms that crop up at this time in their life: fatigue, depression, lack of muscle strength, indigestion, acid reflux, insomnia, thyroid insufficiency.”

There are many alternatives such as unsweetened almond, coconut or rice milk. So Delicious makes a great Cultured Coconut Milk Yogurt.  Instead of cheese for an afternoon snack reach for a stalk of celery and almond butter; even hummus and sliced cucumbers are refreshing and filling.   Balancing your system and constantly lightening your toxic load is an intelligent and powerful way to lead a healthy and active life as long as you can.

Be Well,

Cathy

Three new choices for you to try–have fun! See which one your family likes best.

Say “Yes to You!”

Catching up on a weeks worth of calls, I finally listened to a voice of my friend Jen. She called to tell me in a voice of uncertainty, sadness and trepidation that she and her husband were separating. She was moving to a nearby house with her son. I reflected back to my own divorce seven years ago and the intense sadness I experienced.  It was my own journey and growth.  I am stronger, happier and free to be myself.  I wish her the same.  Now, I must call her and extend any emotional support and wisdom she needs; even if it is just the opportunity and safety to cry.  The Universe is love, Jen is love and I know she will be fine.

One of my favorite authors is Paulo Coelho.  He writes most profoundly about change and titled it “Closing Cycles”.  “One always has to know when a stage comes to an end. If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through.

Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters – whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished. . . . Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back.

Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person – nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need. This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.

Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life.

Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust.

Stop being who you were, and change into who you are.”

These are good words for me and for you?  Maybe somewhere in us all, are there things we have held onto that no longer serve us?  I know I can relate, can you?  Let go! Just like winter turns to spring, and dormant trees and flowers bud and blossom, change affects us all, but we too can blossom.  Sometimes easy and sometimes difficult, this is life and tomorrow is a new day.  “Say Yes to You”.
