‘De-Stressing’ our Lives

Maybe a small Herb Garden would fit you?

Maybe a small Herb Garden would fit you?

I awoke this morning–my “to do” list seemed to grow overnight.  The last several weeks have been fraught with mechanical breakdowns; the aging air conditioner, my car battery, a cantankerous refrigerator, a hairline crack in my iPad, taxes, keeping my household’s daily maintenance and routine flowing as smoothly as possible–and  fulfilling my purposeful health coaching practice demands.  All good!  I reminded myself this week, there is no destination, yet the journey is at times challenging!

Each of us in our own way–on our own schedule is juggling  work, health, activities, relationships–and life.  So how do we “de-stress” our lives?  After all, stress is a big factor that contributes to dis-ease and illness.

I began my day, with good intentions, and a few minutes of quiet meditation.  Sunday, a wonderful yoga class offered at the gym and has quickly become a ‘new tradition’ over the past 12 months.  I look forward to the familiar melodious voice of the instructor as he drives the poses, stretches, and breathing.  Each minute that passes seems to pull the tension from the muscles and space within my body at some level of unconscious awareness.  Leaving class after the traditional “Namaste”, I always feel much lighter.  Ah, what great stress reliever.

Relieving stress is as important as organic food, positive thoughts, healthy careers, supportive relationships, creativity & sound home environments.  Each spoke on the wheel reinforcing the integrity of the hub–in this case–us.  Frequently and chronically we lead stressful, frenzied lives full of anxiety.  We all to often struggle to balance all of our roles and then wonder not only why we can’t do it all–but why happiness and joy seem to allude us as well.  The conundrum of modern life.  Where is the harmony? Perhaps, staying true to ourselves, accepting and enjoying the simple pleasures which create lasting happiness and realizing the craziness must take a backseat wherever possible!  Simplify.

How do you de-stress your life?  I’d love to hear.   I’ve come up with a few  suggestions that I offer you today.  See if any of these resonate with you.  For me, when things spiral upward, my reprieve is a few quiet moments sitting on the beach–listening and watching the waves.

  • Take a walk
  • Try a warm bubble bath
  • Choose healthy relationships that support you
  • Listen to music
  • Get creative; write, paint or draw
  • Try aromatherapy such as lavender oil
  • Make yourself a cup of chamomile tea
  • Take yourself to a “time-out” for 5 minutes peace
  • Start a small garden that gives you pleasure and gets you into nature
  • Prioritize and eliminate the non-essential.
  • Give yourself permission and know that most things can wait and the world will not fall apart if they don’t get done TODAY!
  • Laugh
  • Food affects our emotions and our mood; pick wisely.
  • Breathe

A look “behind the scenes” – Juicings’ magical phytonutrients

Firing up my juicer once again, I have begun to explore new recipes. This is a delicious apple-beet juice with lemon, pear and ginger that comes out of a juicing book by Pat Crocker. I was giving a “Sugar Blues” talk at the Hollywood Healing Center and wanted the refreshments to reflect and represent alternatives to the usual fare of snacks. I share one today and give you a few behind the scenes look at the ingredients and what they offer our cells, tissues and well-being.  For those unfamiliar with the benefits of juicing it is certainly worth exploration.

Beet Juice Cocktail

Hippocrates: “Let thy food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

2 apples
1 pear
3 beets
1/2 lemon
1 – 1/2″ piece gingerroot

Put all ingredients through your juicer. Stir and pour into glasses and enjoy!

Did you know???  This is partial and abbreviated–just to give you an idea what a fresh-organic produce offers . . . who knew!

Beets: are antibacterial, antioxidant, cleansing. They strengthen and nourish the liver and gallbladder. They are an excellent source of potassium and are cleansing for the liver, kidneys and gallbladder.
Apples:  are a tonic, digestive, diuretic, detoxifying, cholesterol lowering, anti rheumatic, and liver stimulant. Fresh apples help to cleanse the system, lower blood cholesterol levels. They help to eliminate toxins and are a good source of vitamin A, B, C riboflavin as well as the phytochemicals pectin and boron.
Lemon: this small yellow fruit is amazing. To name a few benefits consider they aid in digestion, act as a laxative and diuretic. They have both antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. Lemons support liver function improve the absorption of minerals, cleanse the blood and are useful in treating high blood pressure.
Ginger: contained in half of all Chinese and Ayurvedic medicines, they were listed as a taxable commodity by the Romans in 200 A.D. How can you begin to incorporate ginger into your modern lifestyle? Ginger is great for nausea. It relieves headaches and arthritis as it is an anti-inflammatory and circulatory stimulant. By increasing circulation, it helps effect a systemic cleansing through the skin, bowels, and kidneys. It also destroys many internal parasites and helps to normalize blood pressure.
Pears: used to energize the stomach, spleen and lungs. The pear is used in the treatment of diabetes, hot cough, gallbladder obstruction and constipation. The pectin in pears reduces serum cholesterol and cleanses the body of environmental and radioactive toxins.

Just as this recipe and these fruits and veggies contain many micro-nutrients that the causal observer  fails to notice on first glance, and that I might add are not contained in a particular supplement, whole food nutrition will bring benefits beyond what we think we know about eating healthy.  Each recipe and fruit delivers nutritional benefits in the way nothing else can. Our body and its innate wisdom together with Mother Natures innate wisdom provide a much higher vibration for our body than the man-made manufactured “educated” guess that selectively segments one or two nutrients and calls it the next great miracle.  Isn’t time we get back to basics? To me they work in such a way to create the symphony and composition of total health and wellness; one that we cannot possible out guess! There seems to be no short-cuts and no magic pill!  See if you can begin to open your mind to the possibility of fresh juicing and take your health to the next level!

Be well!

Detoxing . . .

A time-tested brand!

A time-tested brand!

You know it is nothing to schedule an appointment for our car; taking it in for routine preventive maintenance is totally within our accepted cultural meme. Changing the oil, or air filter is expected. But ask someone about a detox and all sorts of triggers and resistance come up for most in our society and those who suggest such ideas are often thought of as crazy, deranged or nut cases!

I pose this to you–What if an annual, or bi-annual detox for your colon, kidney’s and liver might possibly save you from trouble on down the road?

I know the argument from the medical doctors, most who have never ever had a nutrition class, argue that the body is designed not to need such measures?

I would propose that:

1.) our body’s weren’t designed to depend on pharmaceuticals and drastic interventions and

2.) we weren’t meant to live in such a toxic, artificial, and chemicalized world exposed to all sorts of substances that put real strain on our body and in-turn our organs which filter these unknown and unnatural substances daily– assaulted to such extreme irritation and early degeneration? (for a minute consider the pesticides, genetically modified unlabeled ‘food’ or the processed artificial ingredients and chemicals we cannot pronounce added to the food we consume each day).

So, with spring here, and everyone looking for ways to maintain or improve their health and vitality, consider a detox or cleanse.

I am getting ready to do another–this time a kidney cleanse–why not–a little preventive maintenance on my car goes a long way–so why not me?  The cleanses support my intention of living a long healthy productive and purposeful life!  What about you?

If I Could See Something What Would it Be?

” Know Nothing, Access everything, Get out-of-the-way.” A conversation with Universal Consciousness. “No-thing” means ALL. Profound thoughts! For the last five days I attended and completed Richard Bartlett’s workshop levels 1, 2, and 3 learning about what he calls Matrix Energetics. This workshop examines what we observe beyond our physical senses based on our filtered perceptions, memes and morphic fields. What do we really know? Our left brain is constantly trying to sort and make sense of our world. But what if we could move beyond consciousness of what we think we know? His information is based on science, and the body’s own subtle energy and his gift for magic and miracles. It is cutting edge healing and transformation at its best, and it is based on pure intent and the heart field electromagnetic energy. Here one must move from the head to heart. After all, the Heart is 5000 x’s more powerful than the head/brain.
In the room were 200+ people–including physicians, construction principles and healers all learning about accessing the unlimited zero-point energy field and the unlimited energy of the universe. For in reality, problems are only patterns and when we learn to play and unravel those patterns, new patterns of information can manifest through an infinite range of possibilities available to us all. In the end, coherence is only beliefs, opinions and thoughts. And, as Richard says, it’s the space between the space where miracles occur.

Superfoods; Great for Mind and Body; Health and Vitality

Increase the vital force and energy of one's body.

Increase the vital force and energy of one’s body.

Busy life, busy day–I’m going to do a short post on three more SUPERFOODS that I enjoy everyday!  They are just one of the additions that keep me vitalized and energetic each day!

4.) Hemp Products (eaten in their RAW form) The seeds are packed with 33% pure digestible protein, and are rich in iron, amino acids and vitamin E as well as omega 3’s and GLA.* Hemp is a perfect food for growing children and adults to increase protein intake.

5.) Camu Berry–Highest Vitamin C source on planet. Great for rebuilding tissue, purifying blood, and enhancing immunity and energy. Camu berry is one of the best anti-depressants, immune building, and eye-nourishing superfoods in the world.

6.) Bee Products (honey, pollen, and propolis) –Bee pollen is the most complete food found in nature containing nearly all B vitamins especially vitamin B-9 (folate) and all 21 essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. Honey, in its organic/wild, raw unfiltered states is rich in minerals, antioxidants, probiotics and enzymes, and is one of the highest vibrational foods on the planet.  If your metabolism can handle sweeteners, honey is the best. Russian research indicates that honey is a longevity superfood.

Remember health is a journey not a destination.  Excellent health is about more than just feeling good.  Vitality and strength allow us to be active in our families, our communities and our world giving us the ability to achieve much more than when we are “sick & tired.” It is a gift you give you yourself and others.

*GLA (gamma linoleic acid) Is an essential omega-6 fatty acid.  We become deficient in GLA when large amounts of sugar, trans fatty acids (margarine, hydrogenated oils), and red meats and dairy products are consumed.

Be Well–in love and light,

Cathy

SUPERFOODS . . . WHAT ARE THEY?

How could you incorporate some of these and enjoy their benefits?

How could you incorporate some of these and enjoy their benefits?

Super foods are a class of the most potent, super-concentrated, and nutrient rich foods on the planet. As I began to sprinkle them on my super healthy steel cut oats—I thought my followers may want to do the same. Breaking the fast should after all begin with some goodness. So rather than some highly processed—highly refined carbohydrate laden with trans-fat and corn syrup—why not temp yourself with a breakfast the really does a body good!
To make it super-easy and super-fast, I make a big batch of the steel cut oatmeal when I am not rushed for time, and then transfer it into a glass container to store in the refrigerator. I can either take a serving size out and heat it with a bit of Kangen water on the stove—or heat it for a minute if you are still a microwave person—
I dress my wholesome oatmeal making it tasty and delicious adding chia seeds, Maca powder, Goji berries, golden berries and some cacao nibs. I also toss in a few almonds or walnuts. Sometimes I add a bit of rice milk. It is quite a delicious mixture, and it is never quite the same.
Let me share a little about some of the new Superfoods available on the market today. The first thing, is they have a tremendous ability to increase the vital force and energy of one’s body and are the optimum choice for improving over-all health, boosting the immune system, elevating serotonin production, enhancing sexuality, cleansing, lowering inflammation and alkalizing the body—wow! According to David Wolfe, raw foodist and Superfoods expert, “nourishing us at the deepest level possible, they are the true fuel of today’s superhero.”
So, let me talk about a couple . . .
1.) Cacao (Raw Chocolate) The seed/nut of a fruit of an Amazonian tree, cacao is the highest antioxidant food on the planet, the #1 source of antioxidants, magnesium, iron, manganese, and chromium and is also extremely high in PEA, theobromine (cardiovascular support) and anandamide (“bliss chemical”). Raw chocolate improves cardiovascular health, builds strong bones, is a natural aphrodisiac, elevates your mood and energy and increases longevity.
2.) Goji Berries (Wolfberries)—used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 5,000 years. Goji berries are regarded as a longevity, strength-building and potency food of the highest order. This superfood contains 18 kinds of amino acids, including all 8 essential amino acids, up to 21 trace minerals, high amounts of antioxidants, iron, polysaccharides, B & E vitamins and many other nutrients.
3.) Maca—A staple in the Peruvian Andes for thousands of years, this adaptogenic superfood increases energy, endurance, strength, and libido. Dried maca powder contains more than 10% protein, nearly 20 amino acids, including 7 essential amino acids. As a root crop, maca contains five times more protein than a potato and four times more fiber.

The weekend is coming—you may be able to catch your breath. Break out of your routine. Try something new. Make a commitment to yourself. You are a spark of the divine—so treat yourself divinely!

Balance for 2013

This was a big Ah-ha moment when I read this and I share it with you this morning–

"Permission for life extension, and it’s going to start withwater!" Kryon

“Permission for life extension, and it’s going to start with
water!” Kryon

NUMBER 1:

“The very cells of the body sit in a water bath. Life sits in a water bath. The
earth is mostly water. Water will now start to show you something you never saw
before . . . energies of healing. Watch for a plethora of water cures on this planet!
Water is the life of this planet. It is alive with the essence of healing. It is the vehicle for
live essence, and this is what has been meant all along—a live-essence curative energy
in water! There will be a whole number of them that you will think of as being “energetic water”.

“. . . Certain kinds of treatments of water, both natural and by using
magnetism, chemistry, and atomic structure affect the interdimensional life
within it. This, therefore, changes the very attributes of the life within it. When
ingested into the interdimensional Human Being, these attributes of life in water then
interact with the water in your body.

Rejuvenation at the cellular level. It includes permission for life extension, and it’s going to start with
water!” KRYON ON WATER—BOOK VIII– PASSING THE MARKER

JulieAnn & iMRS

JulieAnn–a passion for helping others!

She was running late and phoned.  Gridlock traffic–again. This was California after all. Famous for its traffic.  I knew South Florida was bad enough. Experience had taught  me that–JulieAnn was my ride to the Foot Whispering workshop.   We seemed to have similar backgrounds and each of us had rejected the allopathic status quo. We had each spent time with the big pharmaceutical giants. Now,  me with my Holistic Health Coaching practice and with her mat that delivers Earth’s natural Electromagnetic Field technology.   I was anxious to experience her device. New applied science from Germany that could help many.  The allopathic paradigm of limited options: Pharmaceutical, radiation, surgery. “Modern medicine”seems still so barbaric on reflection; poisoning, burning or cutting were the only options. Funny how some new technology is so quickly embraced–and other technology that seems to challenge big industries authority seems to leak out and is blasted as quackery or ineffective but embraced in other parts of our world.  Curious.

I laid down on her mat. I knew very little about this technology. I had focused my attention on a medical device from Japan that also affects the health of our cells. It seemed like they would work synergistically–enhancing one another.   She placed ear phones on my head and hooked me up–a small white plastic clip attached to my ear. For the next eight minutes I listened to music. Slight subliminal tones and sounds beneath the surface in the distant background.  Is this Smart medicine? iMRS feels and acts like Reiki for those familiar with Japanese Energy Therapy. This is also able to deliver natural frequencies that are chosen by your body and intuitivelyserve your body best.

JulieAnn’s deepest passion and desire is to bring her broad experience and knowledge in both traditional and state-of-the art healing modalities to all who work with her.   Research indicates that Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields improve circulation and delivery of oxygen to the brain and vital organs. It helps to regenerate the body’s cells and promotes reduction in pain, bursitis, muscle stress, arthritis and cancer related pain.

If you would like more information JulieAnn can be reached at www.LifeForceEnergies.MediConsult.tv, or 619-972-9551. Or you may email her at JulieAnn@LifeForceEnergies.net.

I got off the mat feeling relaxed, wishing I had my own mat.  Could it bring my thyroid back “on-line”?Between the enhanced support to my body’s regulatory system and supporting my own circadian rhythms and including a frequency of homeopathy–I was anxious to find out more!

Be Well,

Cathy
